News and Notes
Parents,
It has been great to see all of your kids and to have talked with so many of you on the pool deck. I hope having swimming these past two weeks has started to add some normalcy to your routine. I just wanted to get a few dates and pieces of info out so you all can plan.
We are adjusting our practice times just a little. We are cutting our buffer from 10 minutes to 5 minutes.

- We will be doing RED, WHITE, and BLUE Tie-Dye on Thursday, June 18th at both morning and evening practices. The plan will then be to wear those on our Patriotic theme day the week before the 4th of July. Swimmers will need to bring their own white shirt and have it twisted and rubberbanded before they come to practice.
Here is what each child will need:
Prior to Thursday:
- all kids need to have a pre-washed shirt that is already rubber banded. Make sure their name is on the shirt and make sure it is in a plastic gallon size ziplock bag with their name on the bag. They will be putting the dyed shirt back in the zip lock bag to bring home. (we will also have gallon size bags if you do not)
After the child tie-dyes their shirt on Thursday:
- we will put the dyed shirt back in the zip lock bag and send it home.
- Parents need to wait 24 hours and then rinse the shirt in cold water with the rubber bands still on. Rinse it pretty well.
- Then take the rubber bands off the shirt and rinse the shirt again till the water is running clean
- Then wash the shirt in the washing machine and hang dry. Once it is dry, you can put it in the dryer to fluff it up. Now you have a tie-dye shirt!!!
There are multiple ways to rubberband the shirts here are two ideas https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6VJDbYFb-c starts around 16 seconds.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abjpy72Sf6U starts around 58 seconds.
- Monday, June 22nd we will do a team time trial/virtual meet in the evening. Each age-group will have a time slot and most kids will swim a 25 or a 50 of each stroke. Please RSVP by Thursday, June 18th. You can RSVP by clicking on the meet that says FDCC. We need all families to make a yes or no declaration for the meet. We will cancel Morning Practice on June 22nd since we are having our competition event that night. More details will come out based on RSVP numbers.
- No morning practice Friday, July 3rd. No Morning Practice Monday, July 6th. We will resume Monday evening on July 6th.
If you have any questions please let me know.
Brett
