Hurricane and Beaver Brook Families,

I hope this email finds you all doing well and ready for spring and summer. It has been a while since we were together back in August. We are currently prepping for the 2021 summer season. I have been getting some inquiries from families about the summer, so I thought now would be a good time to address them. I want to thank all the BBCC families and the country club for welcoming us in and giving us a place to swim during the COVID climate. While some may have not liked the fact that we were further away, I think the overall experience was great and I heard a lot of positive feedback about our location.

As far as summer swim goes I don’t have a lot to report. I will be attending the GKAISA meeting on March 2nd and the scheduling meeting on March 11th. Here is what I do know and please note that none of this is set in stone. At the end of the summer, I approached the board and floated the idea of swimming out of two pools, mornings out of Holston and evenings out of BBC. Anyone could attend any practice location that they wanted. I felt with BBCC not having a team and North Side YMCA not having a team last summer that we could bring our team into the Halls, Powell area and produce a solid product. So here we are at the end of February and we do not know for sure what the logistics will look like. We heard from Holston Hills Country Club around the holidays and they were not able to give us an answer whether we would be able to swim at Holston this summer or not. If Holston is not available to host us then we will be at BBCC full time. Again I do not know logistics or what restrictions may be in place but I am hopeful we can be much closer to normal than we were last summer. I hope this is encouraging to all of you and I look forward to growing the team and welcoming our Holston swimmers back as well as the BBCC families that joined us last year.
